Innovative technology unlocks the key words within your content
Try Grapeshot's power to extract value on your own web pages

Grapeshot has a technology that can go into a page and pick out the significant words. Instead of manually assigning categories to different parts of the publisher's site, which is a very time consuming process, Grapeshot has an automatic way to unpick the right words in a page and effectively target advertising to that context.
Rather than assign ads to whole sections of a site, Grapeshot is looking at every page view and in real time trying to calculate what is the most relevant ad.
This results in much higher click through rates. Each ad is targeted by actual words on the page - making it a transparent method based on hard evidence of each word involved.
Many internet applications think word frequency is a key measure of importance.
But the word "lawyer" inside a legal website may be very frequent, and therefore not as significant as the one occurrence of the word "lawyer" in pages about sailing. Context of words is more important than simple frequency. And this is where Grapeshot scores well - we look at the relevance of each word, not simple frequency.
Our algorithms are built upon work in the "Information Retrieval" field at Cambridge University between 1980 and today. Our Chief Scientist Dr. Martin Porter, is a world expert on language stemmers, but was a member of a key team of Cambridge academics who pioneered new ways to assess word significance.
Our advantage has been to take the best new academic work and put it into practice - where we can analyse millions of documents and quickly assess relative relevance of words, to each other, and change those weights in real-time as we learn more about each user in our ecosystem.
Fast, compact code
Grapeshot has the advantage of using Dr. Martin Porter's small, compact code that can work very fast, making every millisecond count. Grapeshot algorithms have no need to look up business rules or read in dictionaries, so the algorithms are ultra fast.
